3D Printing Made Simple for Education

Picture
Ever wonder about how 3D printing can be used in the classroom? Many have, but many don't quite understand the intricacies of 3D printing. 3D printing can make a profound impact on student learning and increase creativity levels exponentially. This guide explains what to look for in a 3D printer as well as how to integrate it successfully into the classroom. In addition, there are many tips and tricks on how to make the 3D printer run more efficiently. Many successful classroom project ideas have been included.

VEX V5 Chassis (SKU: 008)
Picture
Picture
Many times students have great ideas, but cannot get past the initial build phase and create a solid chassis. This product is a solution to that. It has a good thickness for wheels and axles as well as several methods to mount the V5 brain and places to hook the battery. Several different gear combinations are possible which leads into many activities based on speed and torque. You get the body only. The other screenshot is to show some of the possibilities. ON SALE!

Venturi Tube (SKU: 102)

Picture

I use this in Aerospace to demonstrate the Venturi Effect. It has a hole in it for an air compressor nozzle. The other end is dipped in sawdust, sand, or something similar. When the compressor is activated, a vacuum is created. Included TWO nozzles to see what happens when input or output are restricted or widened.

EZ Hydraulics (SKU: 101)

Picture
Use these STEP files to create quick connections. These were developed with hydraulic projects in mind, but have quicky caught on as easy ways to prototype structures.

Broken Barrel Drop (SKU: 016)

Picture
Ever get tired of buying eggs for the timeless egg drop experiment? We use these instead of raw eggs to drop from our drone. We do put a 1 oz. weight inside of them to help them break apart a bit easier.

DC Motor Vehicles (SKU: 020)

Picture
Picture
These vehicles were an instant hit with our kids. We've designed somewhat of a universal body that allows for multiple gear ratio types as well as propeller power. You will receive the STEP files for the Vehicle Body and 2 gear sets. There is the DC set, which is for the DC motor axle (.0925") we use and there is the Axle set, which has a larger diamter .130" for the axles we use.

VEX to DC Motor Bracket (SKU: 015)

Picture
We use these to mount a DC motor to VEX framing. This can help us create additional mechanisms. We often use this to put a DC Motor in to control a flywheel as it will generate greater speeds.
